For some parents, the thoughts of the kids running from house to house is enough to give one a heart attack.  Thanks to modern technology, your fears can be put at ease.

Iconosys, Inc. unveiled their app, TrickorTracker, for free, but only through Halloween. The trial period ends Nov. 2.

HOW IT WORKS

Install the app on your phone and your child’s phone.  Using the app, both you and your child can locate each other using a GPS powered map.  The app also allows parents to receive messages revealing where their children are on an hourly basis.

Yup, this is something that I know a lot about.  I’m just too pretty for the work site…

Some pretty disappointing news from the Journal of Social Psychology found that women who are considered to be attractive are often not considered for traditionally masculine jobs.

While women had the advantage in jobs perceived as “feminine,” such as secretarial positions, they were seen less desirable for jobs like prison guards, tow-truck drivers, mechanical engineers, and security guards.

Meanwhile, Newsweek Magazine reported that 56% of hiring managers believed that unattractive candidates typically have a tougher time landing a job, even if they are well qualified for the position.

Apparently you have to be unattractive in order to earn a paycheck…and inadvertently pay your bills.  Sigh.

My wife Sarah started working on her Christmas shopping list months ago.  I thought she was ahead of the curve, but apparently not.  Many have already started putting together their Black Friday shopping strategy!

Here are some things to keep in mind when it comes to planning for your Black Friday:

1.)  Black Friday doesn’t necessarily start on Black Friday.  You can find Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving.  You can also find Black Friday deals online that don’t appear in the sales circulars.

2.) Black Friday may be hectic and busy, but it’s not actually the busiest shopping day of the year.  The busiest shopping day of the year is actually the Saturday before Christmas.
