“You’re so vain.  You probably think this song is about you.”

New research has found that the average woman spends so much time checking her appearance that she loses five whole days a year to the habit.  According to the Daily Mail, the survey also found out that one in four women consider wearing makeup to be a “necessity,” with 40 percent admitting that they won’t leave the house natural.  Ironically, 1/4 of men feel the same way (see below).

The study also found out that women use enough lipstick everyday to draw a line from London to New York.

Another fun fact? The women in the study used enough lipstick every day to draw a line from London to New York. We wonder how far you could get with Jersey girls and their lip liner.

Now, about men wearing makeup.

3.3 million males in Great Britain admitted to wearing makeup or some sort of cosmetic product on a regular basis.  The study, which connected with 1,800 men, found that one in seven will wear products like eyeliner, self-tanner and concealer on a regular basis.  We’re not just talking Halloween here…regular basis!

Other discoveries through the survey?  Men admitted to using products like powder, hair dye, nail polish, anti-aging creams, eye creams, and lipstick.  26% of men said that they used makeup at least once a week.  13% said that they apply daily…and 20% say that they wear makeup to work.

So what do women think about their husbands, boyfriends, and others wearing makeup?  Apparently they’re ok with it, as 39% of women said that they were happy to lend out their makeup and a similar percentage also said that they were happy to help their significant other put it on.
